Through Building America, PNNL is providing technical assistance to help the Springfield Utility Board (SUB) develop a new energy efficiency program for new homes. SUB is interested in revamping its Super Good Cents (SGC) program, which the utility has supported for over a decade. SUB is a municipally owned electric utility located in Springfield, Oregon.

To help SUB shape its new program we are conducting four analyses: 1) a comparison of Oregon code, SGC and the new International Energy Conservation Code, 2) modeling of expected energy performance from a typical house, 3) and evaluation of SUB billing data from 1999 that compares the electric consumption of homes built to SGC and homes built to the Oregon building code, and 4) a review of regional baseline information with local building practices and code trends.

We are also working with SUB to provide technical information and training to builders and developers working in the utility's service area.
