Construction Photos - Training Session

On May 30, 2000 Champion brought together its lead crafts people, foreman, and managers to learn about the SIPs project and how SIPs technology will be used in the Redman Homes production line.  The training was also attended by representatives from Precision Panels, Premier Building Systems, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Champion Western Region.
18 participants attended the training.  Robert Keely and other senior staff listen as SIPs technology and its potential in the manufactured housing industry is explained.

The crew had a small SIPs model to investigate during the training.  Two 4' x 10' SIPs panels have been in the production area for several weeks to allow foremen and crew to work with the SIPs product and think of ways to incorporate SIPs into the Redman Homes production line.  Standing to the right is the Redman Homes General Manager, Steve Leedom.  Standing to the left is Ted Shearer of Precision Panel.
Much of the presentation was conducted by Tom Griffing (standing, left), Production Manager, and Robert Keely (standing, right), Production Supervisor.

The SIPs manufacturers discussed product compatibility with production line and materials procurement staff.  Here, Tim Costner of Premier Building Systems reviews a mastic product with Champion staff, including Ron Sparkman (standing, right), Director of Engineering for Champion's Western Region.
After the training meeting was completed the project team took the opportunity to review SIP layout plans and ensure consistency with the approved plans for the manufactured home.
