Construction Photos - June 19, 2000

Taken by Ron Sparkman of Champion, this shows the roof for half the house being picked up with an overhead crane
The leading half of the house as it comes down the assembly line. Windows and doors are not yet installed, but otherwise the shell is ready for finish materials.

This shows the inside surface of the roof, which is also the ceiling, with gypsum board already glued and screwed in place. After glue was applied to the drywall, the roof was set onto it in a jig that allowed workers to screw the drywall to the roof. The roof is then set over a pit that allows drywall compound to be applied to the gypsum board.

This was taken from on top of the roof looking down through a skylight opening at workers applying drywall compound and screws.

This is taken from inside the house looking and up and out a skylight opening. The large 4 foot by 4 foot skylight would not typically be installed in a standard manufactured home.
